I have applied for a role, but I am no longer able to volunteer. What should I do?
You should not feel pressured to volunteer if you no longer have time for a particular role, or are simply no longer interested. Please let us know about this decision by giving us a quick call or sending an email. We will also let the organisation know you are no longer available.
If I registered but no one has called me back?
Please allow for up to 48 hours to hear back from our team after your registration. If you have not heard back from us by then, please contact our offices by phone/email and we will follow up with you shortly.
I have just registered. What will happen next?
Louth Volunteer Centre usually reponds to new registrations the during same day. We will attempt to call any new sign-ups for a short chat and ask a few quick questions to help get an idea of the new volunteer's interests and how best to assist them when searching for roles. In the meantime, newly regeristed volunteers are encouraged to look at our website for roles that interest them.
How can I find roles suitable for basic/intermediate English?
Our website allows for users to filter their searches and find roles that are best suited to their requirements/abilities. This can be done by clicking the 'more options >>' button before searching for roles in a specific area.
Can I volunteer with basic/intermediate English?
Yes, there are a variety of different roles we offer with different levels of English needed. The role description of each opportunity will outline the level of English that is needed.
I am having difficulties signing into my volunteer profile. What should I do?
Volunteers will need to remember the exact first name, second name & email address they provided when first registering in order to sign into their profiles. Anyone having difficulties will have to contact our offices either by phone or email and a member of staff will help resolve the issue.
Do I have to live in the Louth area to volunteer ?
Most of the roles we advertise are based in Louth, however, we do have remote roles that you can do from home
Do I need experience or specific skills to volunteer
Most roles do not require experience at all. You will be given on the job training.
I am only able to volunteer at certain days/times throughout the week. Will this imapct the roles I can apply for?
How can I update my profile to show I have started volunteering for a particular role?
Volunteers can update their volunteer hours by opening their profile, finding the corresponding role that they applied for and then click the 'Report Hours' button.
What if I don't hear back from the organisation after applying for a role?
Once a volunteer applies for a role, Louth Volunteer Centre will follow up with that person two weeks after their inital application. This is done via a quick phone call/email. If the volunteer has not heard back at this stage, we will follow up with the organisation directly for an update.
What will happen after I apply for a role?
After a volunteer applies for a role their contact information (Phone number, Email address) will be sent to the organisation. The organisation will then follow up with the volunteer directly and inform them what is needed to get started. The volunteer should also keep an eye on their emails for any forms or instructions that are sent to them to complete.
Do I need to be Garda Vetted to volunteer?
Only specific roles will require volunteers to be Garda Vetted. You can find out if the role requires vetting in the description of the role itself.
