Building a Greener Drogheda Together
As part of our 26 of 26 campaign, Louth Volunteer Centre is proud to shine a light on the incredible community organisations and volunteer-led groups making a difference across County Louth. This week, we are delighted to introduce Drogheda Tidy Towns - a dedicated group of local volunteers who have spent years working to make Drogheda a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming place for everyone. Through environmental initiatives, biodiversity projects, community clean-ups, and public space improvements, Drogheda Tidy Towns continues to inspire positive community action throughout the town.
Volunteers at the Heart of the Community
What makes Drogheda Tidy Towns truly special is the people behind it. Volunteers of all ages and backgrounds come together with a shared goal - making Drogheda a cleaner, greener, and more welcoming place for everyone. Whether it’s organising local clean-ups, planting flowers, supporting biodiversity projects, or adopting local areas in need of care, every contribution makes a visible difference. The organisation has also built strong partnerships with community groups and residents who are passionate about protecting shared spaces and promoting civic pride. Their work shows how volunteering can strengthen communities while creating meaningful connections between people.
